Antonio Citterio - Toan Nguyen
Antonio Citterio was born in Meda in 1950, he started his design studio in 1972 and graduated in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic in 1975. Between 1987 and 1996 he worked in association with Terry Dwan with whom he realizes buildings in Europe and Japan . In 1999, with Patricia Viel, he founded the "Antonio Citterio and Partners". The study operates at an international level, developing complex long-term projects of any size. Recent projects include: the new corporate headquarters of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group in Milan; the Bulgari hotels in Milan and Bali; the development of Cascina Merlata in Milan; residential buildings in Milan and Singapore and the conversion of the former post office building in Milan into a larger office complex. Antonio Citterio currently works in the field of industrial design with Italian and foreign companies such as Ansorg, Arclinea, Axor-Hansgrohe, Aubrilam, B & B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Fusital, Guzzini, Iittala, Inda, Kartell, Maxalto, Sanitec Group - Pozzi Ginori, Simon Urmet, Technogym, Tre Più and Vitra. In 1987 and 1995 Antonio Citterio receives the Compasso d'Oro-ADI award. Since 2006 he is professor of architectural design at the University of Italian Switzerland, Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio. In 2008 the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & amp; Commerce gives it the honor of Royal Designer for Industry and becomes part of the Italian Design Council founded by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities. In September 2009 the firm changed its name to "Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners." Toan Nguyen was born in Paris in 1969 and graduated in Industrial Design at the ENSCI-Les Ateliers in Paris, in 1995. After working in several design studios in Paris, Barcelona and Milan, he began his collaboration with Antonio Citterio in 1998, then became design manager in 2000 and design partner in 2004 and collaborates with international companies. He was assistant professor of design at the Domus Academy, Milan (2000) and the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture in Switzerland (2000-2001) and member of the jury at the IF Design 2009 prize in Hannover. In 2008 he founded toannguyenstudio, his design studio based in Milan. Toannguyenstudio is a multidisciplinary office focused on managing the design and development of products from the smallest details to research technology for image communication and spaces, in collaboration with leading international companies based in Italy, Germany, Spain and the United States.
